Ulrike performes both with her own bands and as a guest singer on renowned stages and sings regularly at numerous important festivals and concerts at home and abroad. In concerts at the Jazzsommer Graz, the Ö1 Jazznacht as well as at Jazz at it's Best or the Licht ins Dunkel Gala, renowned artists such as Don Menza are among her valued stage partners. In the past years, the Austrian singer has released numerous recordings within various settings and groups.
Ulrike can often be heard in wonderful concerts with The Cover Girls, with her duo together with guitarist Gregor Hernach and the Big Band Bad Gleichenberg.
In addition to her concert activities, Mag.art. Ulrike Tropper has been a vocal teacher at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz since 2011 and is often invited as a speaker and consultant at workshops.
Ulrike comes from Bad Gleichenberg and, after spending her school and university years in Graz, now lives with her family back in her hometown.
The foundation of her special music ability is laid early. Already as a child she learns to play the flute, piano, trumpet and guitar, and in the Bad Gleichenberg Big Band, founded by her father, the talented singer can gain her first musical experiences.
After her final exams at the fashion school in Graz, Ulrike begins to study music education and instrumental music education at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. Until her graduation in 2011, she is accompanied by Ines Reiger in jazz singing. She receives lessons in classical singing from Elisabeth Batrice and studies the trumpet with Helmut Arnfelser.
